My name is Tristan Jack and I am currently on the second year of my course studying a media level 3 diploma which I have experienced camera work, editing software's and microphones. I have done work experience such as gardening, camera work for springboard TV, Farming and I did charity work which I raised money for a homeless shelter. I am very determined, hard working and confident. My interests/hobbies are sports mainly football, gaming and fitness. I went to Thomas Clarkson Academy where I managed to get a 4 in English literature and language, a 4 in maths, a 4,3 in science, a merit in Construction, a pass in health and fitness, I have also got a duke of Edinburgh award which invloved walking sixteen miles with a heavy backpack which shows I am determined and a NCS certificate which involved meeting new people, many activities and charity work, I am very determined to succeed and try to pursue a career I really enjoy and getting into the DE University will really help me into doing that. I am hoping to meet new people and want to prove to myself that I can be independent. I have lived in the same town my whole life so it would be nice to live in and to explore a new city. I have many hobbies including sports which I have played football, rugby, basketball, cricket and also non contact sports such as chess which I am beginning to get very good at. I am also really into gaming, my favorite game is red dead redemption 2 on the Xbox one console, I do play other games such as call of duty, rocket league, GTA 5 and fifa are a few examples of games I play. 

On the first year of my course I was able to complete many projects involving the camera's and editing software which I have created a documentary about the kray twins which involved me having to research into the krays and it also gave me the chance to use the editing software, I have also created many short films and an advert which I was able to practice using the camera by myself and with others, I was able to use the lighting equipment which i learnt how to set them up in the right places. So from this I am now able to work the cameras by myself and use editing software's such as adobe premier pro. From a young age of watching YouTuber's I have always been in love with creating video's and being behind and in front of the camera. 

I have an career idea that I can pursue after university which is recording and editing  wedding video's for people, I chose this idea because the equipment you need is very basic and easy to get, I will also need a website which I can make on a website called wix, the equipment I would need is a tripod, camera and microphone and then I will need an editing software which I would just adobe premier pro, all of these I have had experience setting up by myself and filming. The clients would then give me an idea of what music they would want etc. 

As I said I will be very experienced in media for university since I have done 2 years of it at college so it won't be new to me and I will know all the basics. The 2 years on the course have bettered my understanding of media and helped me experience a lot of the equipment which is really going to help me for university. I have looked at many university's and by far DE montford university is my favorite, Its quite close to home and other family and the city is really big so there's much to explore. The university itself looks great.

Overall this course will really help me in pursuing my dreams in media.

The position you are offering is what I am all about, I have always been in love with filming and editing ever since I was young and to see a job available with the exact same thing is a dream.

I am on my second year of my Media level 3 diploma course and from this I have already had so much experience with the equipment and editing software’s, the course has also given me the chance to work with other people so I guess you could call me a team player. I have done many work experiences for springboard TV which involved using the cameras to record a band. I have also done many projects such as filming adverts, documentary’s and short films which has bettered my knowledge of media in general.

I feel if you give me an opportunity to prove myself you will not regret it. This will also give me the opportunity to up my experience in media and the practical side of it.
